The Code for Us workshop series invites adults in the Twin Cities with little to no tech experience to embark on a journey where they will be introduced to basic web development skills. Code for Us recognizes there is a lack of computing opportunities that center adult learners, especially for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals. Code for Us is guided by principles of equity and access coupled with the values of libraries as pillars for community-based and lifelong learning. Regardless of your background or experience in tech, everyone deserves to learn computing skills at any stage in life. As a result, Code for Us is dedicated to creating an accessible community-centered space with an informal learning lens for participants to discover and engage with computing. Our hope is that adult learners join us in creating a more diverse and inclusive tech workforce.
Code for Us is an eight week informal coding workshop.
The workshop is held once a weeknight for two hours each session.
The participants will learn the basics of web development.
